Jeffrey D. Blume
With a broad background in both golf course architecture and land planning, Jeffrey Blume possesses knowledge in all aspects of golf course design, and he is educated in land planning skills for various multi-use master-planned communities. Through his experiences, Jeffrey has learned that, for him, variety is the cornerstone of any great golf course. He believes that if visual, topographical, directional, and tactical variety are achieved in the framework for a design, the golf course design will be a success. For Jeffrey, exploration into golf course design began at Texas A&M University, from which he graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. He then joined Jeffrey D. Brauer’s firm, GolfScapes, where he quickly rose to the position of Project Architect. While at GolfScapes for two and a half years, Jeffrey was responsible for the design and construction observation of seven golf course projects. Jeffrey then joined the firm of Robert von Hagge and served as a Project Architect for assignments in the United States, Japan, Mexico, and the Caribbean. After five years with von Hagge, Jeffrey left to form his own design firm, Jeffrey D. Blume, Limited. Jeffrey and his company have designed an 18-hole championship course at Bentwater Yacht & Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, and undertook renovation commissions at various courses in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.
